This was my great grandmothers banjo that she had passed down to my Daddy. He grew up playing the banjo and always had such a love and passion for music. I always say that I grew up in a musical household and a lot of my love for music came from my Daddy. So when he passed away two years ago, this banjo was passed down to me and it is one of the most special things that I own. I don’t have a video of him playing it but this video of us performing together is my favorite and represents the love of music that I got from him.
I opened up for an Elvis impersonator in Gatlinburg when I was little and I played all 60’s songs. It was me, a Buddy Holly impersonator and then an Elvis impersonator. What a time. I bought this poodle skirt for that and rocked it every chance I got (and some fabulous cat eye glasses). I actually wore multiple poodle skirts for performances but this one was always my favorite.
My mom said that this was my favorite stuffed animal when I was a little girl because my Nana had gotten it for me. I slept with it every night and it was always so special to me. I always hold on to sentimental things like this because I just have so many memories attached to them (I got that from my Momma)
